I've considered myself a scientist, ever since I can remember doing my first experiment. First, I am constantly asking questions about scientific related topics. Along with always asking questions, I am always wondering how and why things work together. Next, I like doing experiments and finding out the solutions to my problems. Some questions I ask myself while I'm conducting my experiments are, what works better when I change a variable, how can I make something better, and how can I change the solution. Thirdly, I enjoy making a hypothosis and seeing if my answer is proven correct. Lastly, collecting and recording data, helps me to analyze the outcome of my experiment. An example of when I used these scientific steps, is when I was conducting a 6th grade experiment. My job was to find out what brand of a miniature toy car would go the fastest down a steep ramp. I used three different types of cars and I made a hypothesis of which car I thought would win the race. All cars started at the same spot and were released at the same time. I wrote down the time, to the hundreth of a second, it took for each car to get down the incline. I repeated this process ten times and the same car won, most of the time. Maybe one of these days I will get paid to work in a lab and be a legendary scientist!
